March 2019 International Break Recap
México: Edson Álvarez and Jorge Sánchez
El Tri won both matches during the International Break, a 3-1 win over Chile and a 4-2 win over Paraguay. Edson Álvarez started both matches and played the full 90 minutes against Chile and 45 against Paraguay. Jorge Sánchez started against Paraguay and went the full 90.
Argentina: Agustín Marchesín and Guido Rodríguez
Marche and Guido didn’t see action in Argentina’s surprising loss to Venezuela. Guido started and played the full 90 in their 1-0 win over Morocco.
Chile: Nicolás Castillo
Nico Castillo started and played the full 90 against México, scoring Chile’s lone goal. He started and played 85 minutes in their 1-1 draw against the US Men’s National Team.
Colombia: Mateus Uribe
Mateus was subbed on in the 81st minute of Colombia’s 1-0 win over Japan. He started, wore the captain’s band and played 81 minutes against South Korea.
Ecuador: Renato Ibarra
Renato Ibarra started and played 45 minutes against the USMNT in a 1-0 loss. He started and went the full 90 against Honduras in a 0-0 draw.
Paraguay: Bruno Valdez
Bruno started and went the full 90 in Paraguay’s 4-2 loss to México.

México’s Sub20 squad played to friendlies ahead of the U-20 World Cup, a 3-2 loss against the Netherlands and a 4-0 loss against the Czech Republic.

Córdova started against Scotland, which México’s Sub22 squad drew 0-0. Their second match was a 2-1 loss against Northern Ireland.
